A very good morning everyone….

I’m sorry for posting  my reflection quiet late…..It’s because i was busy with other presentations and macro teaching.

So this was the last day of tutorial question’s presentation. It was started by ahmad khusyairie and prasna. Then it was ended by Nurashikin. Ahmad Khusyairie and Prasna presented about the 1 Malaysia Concept which is really important to our country. The concept evolves around culture of excellence, perseverance, acceptance, education  and so on. 1 Malaysia  seeks to improve the relations of all malaysian regardless of race and religion. According to Ahmad khusyairie, 1 Malaysia concept caters the needs of all sector of plural society and also  to ensure equal distribution of wealth between racial groups and so on. 1 Malaysia’s goal is to preserve and enhance  this unity in diversity which has always been our strength and remains our best hope  for the future.

The strategies are  culture of excellence, perseverance, acceptance, education, integrity, meritocracy, humility and loyalty.

Next presenter was prasna. She presented about the obstacles that may prevent the achievement of  1 Malaysia concept.  As she explained, in the school system, there is ethnically and linguistically polarized  primary schools. Almost 90% of chinese and 50% of indian students  had no opportunities to interact with malay students in the same category. There is also a quota system for the school.  There is some religious sentiment among them where ethn- centric [weird and immoral]. Difference is measured by family background, attitude and so on. There is unhelpful religious sentiments which undermine the practice and institution of other religion. The language also had become one of the factor. they have their mother tongue such as tamil and chinese. They can’t accept Bahasa Melayu as an official language. It shows the difference between the races. Next is goal, where it is not ethnically integrated, not common and shared goal and so on. The last one is speciality where special position of malays and bumiputera occurs.

The last presenter  was Nurashikin. she presented about cooperative learning. In describing cooperative learning, we can organize classroom activities into academic and social learning, structuring positive interdependence, assess as a whole group and so on. There are three commonly recognized types which is formal and informal cooperative learning and cooperative based groups. Some of the models are jigsaw, think pair and share, group investigation and so on. There are some way to implement the model which is positive interdependence, face to face interaction and lot more.

so that’s all for today..thank you.

Learning Kit….:)-digital message [individual part]

A very good evening everybody….it’s been a long time since i updated the blog……

This week, i would like to update about our learning kit. Actually ,  we are supposed  to  present our learning kit few weeks ago but because of some unavoidable reasons, we are not be able to present it. So we will present it online. My group consists of me myself,Nur Ana, Prasna and Khusyairie. Our learning kit is about culture and personality of students.I will talk about my part that i should present in power point last time.

As we all know, studying is a process of acquiring knowledge. Culture and personality are closely-linked to the way students studying.

Culture is the characteristics of particular group of individuals….It is also….

Culture refers to the cumulative deposit of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the    universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through individual and group striving.Culture is the systems of knowledge shared by a relatively large group of people. Culture is communication, communication is culture.

While personality is……

  1. The combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character.
  2. Qualities that make someone interesting or popular.

Students have their own culture of studying. Some love to study alone and some loves to be in study group. Teachers should stimulate the intellectual development of the children. To truly engage students, we must reach out to them in ways that are culturally and linguistically responsive and appropriate, and we must examine the cultural assumptions and stereotypes we bring into the classroom that may hinder interconnectedness.

Students must also have a respect on the educators so that that the teaching and learning process will run smoothly. Students must have attentive listening in the classroom. Students must set their own goal and try to achieve it.Teacher must asses and monitor the students from time to time. Teachers should celebrate achievements with their children.

Here are some examples of my digital message on Culture……

While personality is……

  1. The combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character.
  2. Qualities that make someone interesting or popular

Each students have different personality.According to a research by California State University, In classroom, some students will participate actively while some are not. They will be passive learners. some of them will be looking sad, some are happy go lucky and so on.Extroverts tend to prefer learning situation that afford interaction while the introverts will tend to prefer smaller groups. The person who have passive personalities will initiate a question or volunteer an answer to a teacher’s question. Introvert students have less academic achievement than extroverts.

Here are some of the digital messages that involves personality.
